Sheraton Steamboat Resort won several recent industry awards for achievements in service culture, guest satisfaction and hotel design, PR Newswire reported last week. The Sheraton won a 2009 Starwood North America Excellence Award for service culture, with General Manager John Curnow receiving the award April 22 in New York, according to Newswire; an Editor’s Pick for “Best Unique Dining Space” from Colorado Meetings and Events Magazine; and recognition on Expedia’s “Insiders’ Select List.”

MyWireless named as a business to watch
Coloradobiz Magazine has named Steamboat Springs-based MyWireless to its list of 50 Colorado Businesses to Watch, a news release stated. The announcement appears in the magazine’s June issue.
After starting in 2004 with a single store in Grand Junction, MyWireless has grown to 28 stores in three states and more than 100 employees, the release stated. The company’s newest store is scheduled to open in Highlands Ranch later this month, with several more in the early summer months.
Morning networking event is coming up
The Chamber is hosting a morning networking event at 8 a.m. May 18 in the City Cafe in Centennial Hall. Chamber members will be able to give a 30-second introduction and interact with other members of the business community. The cost of $5 includes coffee and a pastry.
