The following is a list of people booked into the Routt County Jail on suspicion of the listed charges. The arresting agency is listed in parentheses.

Joel Reichenberger: Mad for March

’m writing this before the Elite Eight, so I don’t know what happened. I don’t know if, while surely sitting on my couch, nervous and excited in front of my television, Kansas State won, advancing to its first Final Four in nearly 50 years, or whether it lost, bringing to an end its best tournament run since an Elite Eight appearance in 1988.

Lynne Kirby: No representation

Excuse me, Mr. Salazar, but weren’t you elected as the U.S. Congressional representative for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District? Key word: representative.

Ken Collins: Scared GOP

Following through on the promise to try to grind the health care bill to a halt, the GOP has begun introducing amendments to the next bill being sent through Congress meant to clean up some of the messiness of last Sunday’s bill. They can’t, by law, filibuster, and arguments are limited to 20 hours, so they will attempt to load it up with ridiculous amendments.

Co-owner Dave Pepin said David Mischell, of the Denver area, will own and operate the new shop, which could open in the first week of April and will feature the same menu, ingredients and style that have made Backcountry Provisions continually successful. Pepin and co-owner Peter Boniface opened the Steamboat shop, specializing in sandwiches made for trips into the backcountry, in 2000. Pepin said the Denver expansion is the result of an opportunity that arose during the economic recession. For more information, visit http://backcountryprovisions.com.

That principle is as true today as it was in Dr. Franklin’s time. Nevertheless, those in control in Washington persist in further controlling the lives of Americans, increasing the size and power of government while further controlling and encroaching on the freedom of Americans — all under the pretense of taking care of us, and providing us with security.

Steamboat extreme skier dreams of making it big

It was a powder day, but only by the sad standards of the winter of 2009-10. “Dust and crust,” Kerry Lofy said, chuckling the way 147-day skiers tend to do at similar and equally cliché sayings. “Making it work” has been what this winter has been about for Lofy. He dreams big, of a spot in Warren Miller movies and of sponsorships.
