Steamboat Springs The Steamboat Springs junior high wrestling program will finish its season starting at 9 a.m. today with a home meet, welcoming teams from West Grand, North Park, Soroco and Craig to the Steamboat Springs High School gymnasium.
“We’re going to have a pretty good turnout,” Steamboat coach Shane Yeager said.
Among the top Steamboat competitors are Max May, an eighth-grader who will try to cap off an undefeated season. Cole Sittig is 20-4, Connor O’Brien is 23-2, and Brandon Yeager is 19-5 on the season.
“This program is huge. It’s the only thing feeding into the high school,” Shane Yeager said. “To see these kids coming around, that makes it really fun.”
