Steamboat Springs The House Education Committee unanimously passed a bill today that would allow Colorado Mountain College to offer up to five four-year degrees, according to a news release.
Senate Bill 101 will now go before the entire state House of Representatives. A hearing date has not been scheduled.
If approved by the House, it will next go to Gov. Bill Ritter for approval. The Senate approved the bill earlier this month.
The news release stated that based on preliminary survey results, preferred four-year degree programs are resort and hospitality management and teacher education.
The college has seven campuses in north-central Colorado, including the Alpine Campus in Steamboat Springs.
