Steamboat freeskiers register solid finishes at Copper

— The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club freeskier team competed in the Rocky Mountain Series event at Copper Mountain during the weekend, registering several top finishes.

On Saturday in halfpipe, Lennon Vaughan led the way for the team in the boys 13- to 15-year-old division with a second-place finish. Also with finishes in that division were Penn Lukens in third, Alex Alfone in fourth, Cole Henry in sixth, Jesse Pugh in seventh and Brody King in eighth.

John Satterfield finished third in the boys 10 to 12 age division, and Conor Garrecht-Connelly was third in the open skier division.

In Sunday’s slopestyle, Satterfield was ninth. In the 13 to 15 age division, Pugh was fourth, Lukens was eighth, Jaxon Perry was 10th, Henry was 12th, Alfone was 13th, King was 14th and Vaughan was 17th.

In the boys 16 to 18 age division, Alex Bashan was 10th. Garrecht-Connelly was fourth, and Johnathon Roser was seventh in the open skier division.
