Downtown Steamboat paving work done for summer

Paving scheduled to resume Sept. 7 after summer tourism season ends

All four lanes of traffic are open on Lincoln Avenue in downtown Steamboat Springs. Last week, crews completed paving work to Ninth Street from 13th on the south side of Lincoln. They’ve all but packed up until they resume in September, after the summer tourism season.

Zero Waste Initiative leading waste reduction efforts in Steamboat

Last week at a busy Bike to Work Day breakfast, Liz Wahl diligently was manning compost duty. “Toothpicks are trash,” she informed a helmet-toting cyclist carrying a handful of waste from the meal Wednesday morning on the Routt County Courthouse lawn in downtown Steamboat Springs. Wahl is part of the Zero Waste Initiative, a program of the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council aimed at reducing wastes at many of Steamboat's events and gatherings.
