Steamboat Briefs: VNA offering meningitis vaccinations for students

High school seniors, now is the time to get your Menactra vaccine to protect you against meningitis. College freshman living in dormitories are at increased risk for meningococcal disease and should be vaccinated with Menactra before college entry. The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Associ­ation offers drop-in clinics for adolescents from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursdays at 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101, in Steamboat Springs. VNA program offers free breast, cervical exams

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association has announced a program to reduce breast and cervical cancer mortality through the Women’s Wellness Connection. The WWC provides free breast and cervical exams and selected diagnostic services to women ages 40 to 65 who meet financial qualifications. The program targets women who have not had a mammogram or Pap test within the past year or women who have lost insurance, had an abnormal finding, and need follow-up. Boys and Girls Club asking for used gaming tables

The Boys & Girls Club of Steamboat Springs is seeking gently used gaming tables, such as pool and foosball tables, for its recreation room. The group also would like a mini refrigerator for its teen room. Call Heather Martyn at 846-7710.
