Want to thank people who have been bringing in jewelry for bingo. We sure appreciate it, and we want to keep that up — we always can use some more help in there.
We welcome Geraldine Hinkle, a Yampa resident, into the Doak Walker Care Center. She came in Tuesday. She’s an old, old friend of mine. That makes six of us from South Routt.
We welcome all the new people who are coming in, and we wish best of luck to the people who were discharged to go home, we’re pretty happy for them, too.
Willa Hunter’s son and daughter-in-law were in Tuesday to visit with her. Frances Wither’s family comes in about every day to visit with her, as does Carol Rickman’s family.
Bettie Pierce’s family has been in visiting with her, and Jim and Marilyn Goggin were in to see Lila Rider this week.
Jim Novak was in to visit Lila the same day, and Joanne Lombardi and Wayne Button and his wife were in visiting with Phyllis Burrowes.
Clarice Reid had a visit from a good friend from Grand Junction, and he brought her niece from Carbondale. They spent the weekend visiting.
Evelyn Pidcock’s niece has been in with her, and Phyllis Fulton had her son and daughter-in-law in visiting with her.
Mollie Mahony’s daughter comes in about every morning to visit with her, and Dolores Heid’s son was in visiting with her the other day.
Juanita Davis’ family came and took her out to her son’s ranch this week for a family get-together.
Everybody’s been enjoying time out on the patio because the flowers are starting to come out and bloom.
Happy Father’s Day to everyone, as well. I think we’re going to start having some Father’s Day activities going on this week.
Joke of the week
A golfer known for his bad temper walked into a golf pro shop and plunked down big bucks for a new set of woods.
The staff all watched to see what would happen after he used them for the first time, more than half expecting he’d come in and demand his money back.
But the next time he came in, the golfer was all smiles.
“They’re the best clubs I’ve ever had,” he said. “In fact, I’ve discovered I can throw them at least 40 yards farther than I could my last ones.”
