Steamboat Pilot & Today

Steamboat Springs — A slew of locals fared well through the weekend at the 2010 Alpine Bank Senior Sectional Championships at the Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs.

Local age-group champions included the doubles team of Ed Mooney and Dave Schaller, Kathi Skytta as a part of another doubles team, a team of Marvin Winegar and John Worthen, and Jim Swiggart, both in doubles and singles.

Mooney and Schaller won their final match 7-6(4) 6-3 despite Schaller sustaining a four-inch gash in his head while going for a ball.

The weekend included nearly 100 matches.
