Alum, defensive coordinator to lead Steamboat Springs High School team

Steamboat Springs High School Athletic Director Luke DeWolfe confirmed Monday that the district has decided to hire Lonn Clementson to replace Aaron Finch as the school’s new football coach.

Tristan Frolich, organizer of the ReTree Colorado event in­­tended to revitalize forest growth ravaged by the bark beetle epidemic, said the event now has a gathering place and five tree-planting locations.

Duathlon in Steamboat raises melanoma awareness

Running, swimming event’s proceeds to help fight cancer

Ddo­­zens of competitors participated in the inaugural Splash & Dash Duathlon event, which sent com­petitors swimming through the Old Town Hot Springs lap pool, then on a run around downtown Steamboat. The race raised money for the Mela-KNOW-More, which was created by former Steamboat Springs tennis pro Andy Caress to fight melanoma.
