Steamboat high school still seeking football coach

— Steamboat Springs High School Athletic Director Luke DeWolfe confirmed Wednesday that the district still is interviewing candidates for the vacant Steamboat Springs football job.

DeWolfe, along with fellow administrators and students, is conducting the interview process.

DeWolfe originally said they would like to have someone in place by today or Friday but said Wednesday that a decision likely would come Monday.

The position came open after coach Aaron Finch stepped down last week to pursue other business ventures.

In Finch’s six years, the Sailors went 52-18 and made the playoffs five times, including advancing to the 2009 Class 3A state title game last season.
