Steamboat briefs: Registration is open for Steamboat summer camps

Steamboat Springs Registration is open for the city of Steamboat Springs’ licensed summer camps and mini-sprouts programs. Activities include swimming, bowling, biking, hiking, canoeing, camping, mini-golf and more. The summer camp is for children 5 years old through sixth grade and costs $30 a day. The camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. weekdays. Mini-sprouts is available for 3- to 5-year-olds from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for $15 a day. Quality backcountry gear needed for youth corps
Rocky Mountain Youth Corps is looking for donations of quality backcountry gear. Needed items include sleeping bags, two- and three-person tents, sleeping pads, backpacks and day packs. Call Sheila at 879-2135, ext. 1.
Tread of Pioneers Museum is looking for volunteers
The Tread of Pioneers Museum is seeking volunteers. The Steamboat Springs museum needs front desk volunteers to work three-hour shifts. Duties include greeting visitors, answering phones and collecting admissions and gift shop sales. Friday and Saturday afternoon shifts especially are needed.
