Business File: Dixson, Young earn promotions at First National Bank

First National Bank of the Rockies has announced new positions for Greg Dixson, of Steamboat Springs, and Todd Young.  

Dixson, who works in the bank’s Steamboat office, has been appointed executive vice president and chief credit administrator. He’ll manage credit practices for all FNBR locations.

Todd Young, formerly bank manager in Meeker, has been appointed senior vice president of retail banking for the bank’s northern region. He’ll oversee operations of FNBR’s offices in Steamboat, Hayden, Oak Creek, Craig and Meeker.

Wirth farewell party is Monday at The Grand

Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. is hosting a farewell party for Andy Wirth, senior vice president of sales and marketing, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday at The Steamboat Grand pavilion, with appetizers and a cash bar. Wirth is leaving Steamboat to become chief executive officer at Squaw Valley USA, just north of Lake Tahoe in California. Wirth’s last day with Ski Corp. was Friday.

Former Ski Corp. marketing executive Rob Perlman will return to Steamboat and take Wirth’s position. Perlman will retain his senior vice president of sales and marketing position at Winter Park Resort.

Pinnacol hosts workers’ compensation seminar

Pinnacol Assurance and the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association are offering a free seminar about workers’ compensation and safety from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holiday Inn of Steamboat Springs, on U.S. Highway 40 near Walton Creek Road. The seminar is titled “Industrial Ergonomics — Preventing Low Back & Other Soft Tissue Injuries” and includes information about common workplace risk factors for low back pain. Tips for maintaining a healthy back also will be covered. Kevin Simonton will lead the seminar. Safety group members are required to attend one seminar per year. No RSVP is required.

Talking Green event at Sweet Pea on Tuesday

Also Tuesday, the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council hosts a Talking Green event, “Green Drinks,” from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sweet Pea Market and Cafe, 729 Yampa St. Stop by Sweet Pea’s deck along the Yampa River for drinks, appetizers and networking.
