Lodwick, Swanson went to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, this month

Todd Lodwick, an Olympic silver medalist and two-time world champion, recently returned from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he visited troops with Steamboat astronaut Steve Swanson and United States Olympic Committee Athlete Ombudsman John Ruger.

Proposed improvements to Spring Creek’s floodplain would remove a tennis court and add a pedestrian underpass this fall at Fish Creek Falls Road near Third Street and Old Town Hot Springs. Tonight’s City Council meeting also includes possible action related to the new disc golf course at Rita Valentine Park, the selection of finalists for the vacant City Council seat and a mid-year report on city finances. The meeting begins at 5 p.m. in Centennial Hall.

Local golfer Butch Boucher held a two-stroke lead headed into the final day of the Harvest Stroke Play tournament at Haymaker Golf Course during the weekend, but with 18 holes left, he knew nothing was guaranteed.
