Steamboat briefs: Local groups reach out to returning service members

The Routt County Veterans Affairs, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4264 in Steamboat Springs and American Legion Post 44 in Steamboat would like to meet and greet local sons and daughters returning from military service. The VFW Post is looking for female war veterans. The American Legion also is looking for new members. Relay For Life is Friday, Saturday at high school

The Steamboat Relay For Life starts with opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. Friday at Steamboat Springs High School. A “quarter lap,” where people can walk a lap and put down quarters for cancer research, is at 8 p.m. Yoga will be offered at 6 a.m. Saturday, with Zumba at 7 a.m.

Veterans services will be offered at Sundance Plaza

Veterans can find out which services and benefits they are eligible for through the Routt County Veterans Affairs Office. The office is at 425 Anglers Drive, in Sundance Plaza.
