Steamboat Springs Editor's note: The police originally provided a photo of a person identified as a suspect in the theft. That person did not steal the bike, however, police said Saturday.
Ski Haus in Steamboat Springs was burglarized at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Detective Dave Kleiber of the Steamboat Springs Police Department. A person broke in and stole a Rocky Mountain Altitude 29 mountain bike. The bike is valued at $4,000, Kleiber wrote in an e-mail, and is unusual because of its 29-inch wheels. The serial number on the bike is SPR00910677.
Kleiber asks anyone with information about the theft to call police at 970-879-4344 or him at 970-879-4345.

May we assume the surveillance pics will be released & the Pilot will publish them, so we can get a look at the loser?

No wonder the person stole it....anybody who would pay $4000 dollars for a bicycle is a moron. But a thief is the lowest form of douche bag sucking in air.
