12:10 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a drunken pedestrian in an alley between Lincoln Avenue and Yampa Street. Police issued a 39-year-old man a ticket for public urination and took him to Yampa Valley Medical Center for detox.

Ski Patrol teaches safety to students

South Routt Elementary School students hear presentation

South Routt Elementary School physical education teacher Artie Weber said Wednesday morning’s slope safety presentation from Steamboat Ski Patrol came at an ideal time. The school’s ski program for third- through fifth-graders starts next week, he said. The students will go to Steamboat Ski Area on five consecutive Wednesdays.
