CMC and SCORE offer luncheon Thursday
The Small Business Resource Center at Colorado Mountain College’s Alpine Campus and SCORE are offering a luncheon seminar about buying and selling a business from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Steamboat Smokehouse restaurant.
Topics include planning for a business sale, factors to consider when buying a business, the principles of business valuation and the process and terminology commonly used in business sales transactions.

Forum series focuses on preparing for recovery
The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association and the Steamboat Springs Economic Development Council have announced dates and topics for their 2010 Forum Series, titled “Are You and Your Business Ready for Recovery?”
The series begins Jan. 29 with “The Generation Gap: Effective Communication at Your Workplace”; and continues Feb. 26 with “Building Organizational Capacity Through Internal Sustainability”; March 19 with “Targeting Customers through the Right Technology”; and April 9 with “Reinventing Your Business: Building a Shared Vision for the Future.”

Ski Corp.’s Andy Wirth earns international honor
The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International announced last week its seventh annual list of the Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing. Andy Wirth, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp., was named to the list. The winners represent the best sales and marketing professionals in the hospitality, travel and tourism industries and will be honored at a private ceremony before the HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala on Feb. 1 at the New York Marriott Marquis, according to a news release.
