The Steamboat Pilot & Today was given the Colorado Press Association’s Service to the First award Friday in recognition of the newspaper’s efforts to defend the First Amendment. The newspaper prevailed last summer in a two-year lawsuit against the Steamboat Springs School Board.
Longmont ends season for Steamboat boys
The Steamboat Springs High School boys basketball was easily defeated by Longmont High School, 63-39, on Friday. The Trojans shrugged off any pressure that comes with being a top seed by using a smothering defense, holding the Sailors to six first-half points. Longmont then cruised to a win, advancing to the Sweet 16.
