Steamboat Springs There were only minor injuries after a big-rig wrecker and a Colorado Department of Transportation plow truck hit head-on between Yampa and Phippsburg at about 7:45 p.m. Friday.
Colorado State Patrol Trooper David Kerker said an American Towing truck driven by David Morris was traveling north and drifted into the oncoming lane, hitting the CDOT plow truck, driven by Gerald Greenwood. Kerker gave Morris a ticket for careless driving in the near-whiteout conditions. Drugs and alcohol were not suspected.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and neither was taken to a hospital.
Kerker said each truck was probably traveling between 30 and 40 miles per hour, and the wrecker was towed from the scene.
