Boys & Girls Club is seeking gaming tables
The Boys & Girls Club of Steamboat Springs is seeking gently used gaming tables, such as pool and Foosball tables, for its rec room. Call Heather Martyn at 846-7710.
Registration now open for Yampatika summer camps
Registration is now open for Yampatika’s 2010 summer camps. Yampatika is offering weeklong programs at its Environmental Learning Center at the Legacy Ranch for children ages 5 to 14. Yampatika’s programs provide children hands-on opportunities to explore their natural surroundings and are designed to inspire environmental stewardship through education. Camps include Wilderness Pioneers I and II for ages 12 to 14, teaching map, compass and GPS skills as well as wilderness ethics and Leave No Trace practices. Wilderness Pioneers experience a pack in, pack out field trip at the end of the week. There also will be an optional overnight experience for Junior Naturalists ages 9 to 11. Orchestra seeks sponsors for March 28 concert
The Steamboat Springs Orchestra is seeking sponsors for its season finale concert March 28. Sponsorships are available at all levels and could include tickets to the performances, a logo on the concert posters and ads in the program. Call Lou Mathews at 970-870-3223.
Preschool screenings held for Routt County children
The Northwest Colorado Board of Cooperative Educational Services holds preschool screenings for Routt County children from March 23 and 24. The screenings are for children ages 2 years and 9 months to 5 years (who will be in preschool in fall 2010). There is no charge, and the screenings will include vision and hearing tests as well as checks in language, cognition, and physical and social development. Anyone with questions or concerns about his or her child’s development should call 879-0391 to make an appointment in Steamboat Springs beginning March 1.
Scholarships are available for Routt County students
The Young Professionals Network of Steamboat Springs and its Philanthropic Committee are looking to support Routt County high school seniors with the establishment of the Tour de Forks scholarship.
Funds collected from the October 2009 Tour de Forks event have created two $250 scholarships for seniors who are looking to pursue further education after high school.
