A jury found Eduardo and David Capote not guilty of third-degree assault Wednesday after a day and a half of deliberations, but jurors could not reach a decision about the more serious charge of second-degree assault against Eduardo Capote. Jurors said the group deadlocked on the final charge, with five jurors saying Eduardo Capote was guilty and seven saying he was not guilty.

Police: Minors snuck alcohol into party
Routt County Sheriff's Office official says parents who hosted Jan. 30 party for Dance Showcase participants and their families did not supply alcohol and had no knowledge of it. Police say the minors who were drinking weren't invited to the party and snuck the booze in.

Instead, the games were awarded to Sapporo, Japan, a city on the northernmost island of Japan. Sapporo originally was awarded the 1940 Winter Olympics but resigned after the 1937 invasion of China.
