Steamboat briefs: Parks and rec staff set to hold Yampa River meeting

— The city of Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Steamboat Springs Community Center, to discuss last year’s regulation monitoring, education and enforcement efforts on the Yampa River.

The commission directed city staff last year to work with volunteers to address concerns expressed by the public about impacts — including trash, illegal parking and alcohol consumption — from a variety of river uses. Wednesday’s meeting will review last year’s efforts and discuss efforts for 2010. Call 879-4300 for more information.

Please keep drunk idiots from polluting the river with there feces and aluminum cans! Yay !!! Is it just me or is it not common sense to keep the fish in gold medal water safe and make all the water safer for others downstream? Also sanitary reasons apply.. Do you like floating down river with 100 other people in the same water while partying that sounds nasty. Party elsewhere like where there is recycling and a bathroom! If you can't pack it in and pack it out, then stay out!
