Kidd’s Olympic medal partner passes on after long fight with MS
Jimmie Heuga achieved immortality for helping to make U.S. ski racing history in 1964, but for those who knew and loved him, the memory of what he represented after his competitive career was over will be cherished even more. Heuga, 66, died at Boulder Community Hospital on Monday.

Six men, six women deliberate after closing arguments at trial
Jurors will decide whether David and Eduardo Capote are guilty of assault in a January 2009 fight that led to the death of Richard Lopez. Closing arguments from the defense focused on police conduct, and attorneys said the Capotes acted in self-defense. Prosecutors challenged that assertion.

Eduardo Capote and his wife take witness stand during final day of testimony
Eduardo Capote took the stand as the final witness in his own defense Monday, bringing an end to the fifth day of testimony in the Steamboat Springs assault trial. After closing arguments today, the assault trial of Eduardo and David Capote will go to the jury.
Police identify man hit by car in Steamboat Springs
Off-and-on resident Rick Hagberg remains in critical condition
Police said the man struck by a car Friday while crossing U.S. Highway 40 at Walton Creek Road is Steamboat Springs resident William R. Hagberg. The driver, Nancy G. Graves, of Steamboat, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular assault.
