Man takes deal, another arrested in theft of safe near Steamboat

One man has taken a deal and another has been arrested in connection with a June burglary in the Dakota Ridge subdivision outside Steamboat Springs, when a 300-pound safe containing jewelry worth $125,000 was taken from a house.

On a recent trip to Steamboat, I had the misfortune to fall and fracture my shoulder while attempting to break the speed record for middle-aged women on the ski mountain, at least in my own mind. However, the pain of the break was mitigated by the quick action and wonderful kindness of Matt from Steamboat Powdercats and his lovely girlfriend, Holly, who stayed with me and fetched the Ski Patrol, respectively.
