Patrick Deneen, who trained with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club briefly, was named to the men’s U.S. Olympic team along with Bradley Wilson.

— Hannah Kearney and Patrick Deneen kept their overall freestyle World Cup leads Wednesday in Meribel, France, with a pair of second-place finishes in dual moguls.

Each skier spent parts of the last year training in Steamboat.

Deneen lost to Guilbaut Colas, of France, and Kearney lost to Yulia Galysheva, of Kazakhstan.

American Bryon Wilson was third on the men’s side.

Steamboat Springs’ Jeremy Cota was ninth, and Eliza Outtrim — after finishing fourth in the opening World Cup — did not finish.

The World Cup shifts to China for the first time Friday.
