The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is seeking volunteers Saturday and Sunday for the Sixth annual Wild West Air Fest, part of the Steamboat Springs Labor Day Weekend Celebration.

All volunteers will receive a free plane ride and breakfast. Call Paulette Thomas at 970-875-7006 or e-mail paulette@steamboatchamber.com or come by the visitor center at 125 Anglers Drive to sign up for a volunteer shift.

BMX track at Howelsen Hill closed Monday to Sept. 11

The Steamboat Springs BMX track at Howelsen Hill will be closed for a complete rebuild from Monday to Sept. 11. For more information, call 970-871-9500.

Seminars presentations available on CD at library

CDs of the four Seminars at Steamboat this summer are available for checking out at the Bud Werner Memorial Library. Individual CDs feature David Sanger, chief Washington correspondent of The New York Times, talking about The World and Challenges Obama Confronts; Paul Volcker, former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, in a dialogue on Can We Make the Government and the Economy Work for Us?; Paul Peterson, professor of government at Harvard and senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford, talking about Saving the American School; and Joseph Nye, professor of international relations and former dean of the Kennedy School at Harvard, speaking on Smart Power — America’s Global Position.

Plane rides available at 6th annual Wild West Air Fest

Visitors to the Wild West Air Fest on Saturday and Sunday at Steamboat Springs Airport will have the chance to ride the B-25 Mitchell World War II Bomber and Douglas C-47 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. B-25 rides are $350, and C-47 rides are $45.
