Steamboat Springs The lap pool and diving board at the Old Town Hot Springs will be closed for the next week to 10 days after the impeller broke. The impeller is part of the filtration pump.
All other pool areas will be open.
Old Town Hot Springs Aquatics Director Jill Ruppel said Thursday that because the part is custom-made, the lap lanes and diving board will more than likely not reopen until Aug. 28 or 29.
In the meantime, staff members will drain the lap pool and do the cleaning that typically takes place in fall.
Ruppel said arrangements are in place for Hot Springs members looking to train for the Steamboat Springs Triathlon. For more information about those arrangements, call the front desk at 970-879-1828 and press 0 or call Ruppel at 970-879-1828, ext. 311.
