Man injured on Lynx Pass in South Routt
Dawn Alperti, of Routt County Search and Rescue, said a man was injured in South Routt County on Sunday when he crashed his motorcycle in the Lynx Pass area on trail 1174, known as “Muddy Slide.”

Several local businesses and volunteers are finding ways to help those displaced by Saturday’s fire at an Old Town duplex, but many challenges lie ahead. Sarah Cherry, who volunteers through American Red Cross, said Sunday that 18 people “lost everything” in the Saturday fire at a duplex at Fourth and Oak streets.
Youth livestock auction caps Moffat County Fair week
Lacie Coupe, 17, stood Saturday near the holding pen of her steer, excitedly talking with friends and relatives at the Moffat County Fair. Coupe’s holding pen was in a special place, away from numerous others lining the livestock barn at the Moffat County Fairgrounds. It was near the barn’s west entrance, decorated with purple cloth and lights. A sign hung from the bars indicating the steer inside, KW, was the fair grand champion in the market beef category.
Moffat County Tourism Association board names new member
The Moffat County Tourism Association replaced a member of its board Friday, a day before an organizational retreat in Steamboat Springs. During a special meeting Friday, the Moffat County Commission approved, 3-0, appointing Craig Daily Press Publisher Bryce Jacobson to the MCTA board position once held by Frank Moe. Moe resigned from the position July 15 in a letter written to the commission.
