Class notes: Steamboat graduate earns Bachelor of Arts from CU

— Graham Hogrefe, a 2006 Steamboat Springs High School graduate, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in May from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Hogrefe, the son of Andy and Sandra Hogrefe, of Steamboat Springs, took at job with the Boulder Community Hospital.

Steamboat graduate earns a culinary school degree

Samantha Smalley, a 2008 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, earned her associate degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America in May in Hyde Park, N.Y.

Routt County back to school dates announced

The 2010-11 school year in Routt County nearly has arrived. Students will return to the classroom Aug. 23 at The Lowell Whiteman School, Aug. 24 in the South Routt School District, Aug. 25 in the Steamboat Springs School District and at Christian Heritage School, Aug. 30 at the Yampa Valley School, Aug. 31 at Lowell Whiteman Primary School and North Routt Community Charter School and Sept. 7 in the Hayden School District.

Upcoming course offered by CNCC at Hayden library

Colorado Northwestern Community College will offer at career development for teens course from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays from Aug. 16 to 30 at the Hayden Public Library. Students will learn job search, career research and job interview skills from instructor Dede Huston. The cost is $34. Registration is due by Aug. 16.

CNCC also is offering a guide to the World Wide Web workshop. Taught by Greg Pieraccini, students will be given instruction about the Internet’s capabilities and Internet basics.

The workshop will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17 and 19 at Hayden High School. The registration deadline is Aug. 16.
