Steamboat Springs Susan Weisberger, of Steamboat Springs, scored a hole-in-one July 30 on the No. 5 hole at Haymaker Golf Course. It was the fifth hole-in-one of the season, according to the pro shop.
Weisberger used a hybrid 4-iron on the 135-yard, par-three hole.
She’s played golf for 30 years, but it was her first ace.
“No, I didn’t think it would ever happen,” Weisberger said. “I’ve been close a few times, but I didn’t expect it.”
She said the pin was located behind a hill so she didn’t get to watch the ball roll into the cup. In fact, the women she was playing with had to convince her the ball in the hole was hers.
“I thought they were kidding,” Weisberger said. “I thought my ball had rolled off the side of the green.”
