Libraries in Oak Creek and Yampa have new hours, including some evening hours.
The Oak Creek Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Story-time for preschoolers is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays.
The Yampa Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Story-time for preschool children is from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays.
VNA offers meningitis vaccines for students
High school seniors, now is the time to get your Menactra vaccine to protect you against meningitis. College freshmen living in dormitories are at increased risk for meningococcal disease and should be vaccinated with Menactra before college entry.
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association offers drop-in clinics for adolescents from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursdays at 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101, in Steamboat Springs. Vaccinations also are available by appointment. For more information, call the VNA at 879-1632.
VNA program offers free breast, cervical exams
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association has announced a program to reduce breast and cervical cancer mortality through the Women’s Wellness Connection. The WWC provides free breast and cervical exams and selected diagnostic services to women ages 40 to 65 who meet financial qualifications.
The program targets women who have not had a mammogram or Pap test within the past year or women who have lost insurance, had an abnormal finding and need follow-up. Call Phyllis Coletta at the VNA, 970-871-7646.
