Steamboat Briefs: Advocates offers volunteer training beginning Thursday

Advocates Building Peaceful Communities is offering a new volunteer training beginning Thursday. Volunteer training is 25 hours and prepares volunteers to respond to a 24-hour crisis line. The training takes four to six weeks to complete. Volunteers offer support, advocacy, information and referrals to victims of domestic violence. Volunteers are asked to take two to three shifts per month. Contact Amelia at 879-2034 if interested.
Convertibles needed for homecoming parade
Convertibles are needed for the Steamboat Springs High School Homecoming Parade on Oct. 9. If you can help, call Lucianne Myhre at 970-871-3623. Any organization or group that would like to be in the parade also can call Myhre.
Bust of Steamboat looking for presenting sponsors
The Bust of Steamboat is looking for presenting sponsors for the eighth annual Bust of Steamboat on Oct. 30 at Three Peaks Bar and Grill. Sponsorships are available at all levels and may include tickets to the auction, your business featured on the event poster and in the evening's auction program, and display advertising.
The Bust of Steamboat is organized by the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project.
