As the pink ribbon fell to the ground, more than 30 children ran screaming onto the new universal playground at Strawberry Park Elementary School. On Thursday, a ceremony dedicated the Strawberry Park and Soda Creek elementary schools playgrounds.

Steamboat briefs: Library accepting teen art submissions to display

Bud Werner Memorial Library is accepting submissions for its teen art wall. The ongoing exhibit showcases the art of local teens and displays new artwork about every three months. Routt County teens between ages 13 and 18 are welcome to submit artwork in all media, including paintings, photography, drawings and more. Matted or framed artwork can be dropped off anytime at the library. For more information, call 879-0240, ext. 312.
