The Hayden High School girls volleyball team fell to West Grand on Tuesday, 3-1.
After winning the first game, 26-4, Hayden dropped the next three, 25-15, 25-20, 25-15.
"We get down a few points, and it's tough for us to come back in a game," Hayden coach Greg Johnson said. "Sometimes we get a self-defeating attitude and it's tough for us to get back. Right now we got outplayed, out hustled and out classed on the court."
Although the Tigers are relatively young and inexperienced, Johnson said they need to work harder in games and practices.
Although it's still early in the season, Johnson said he expects Hayden to be much better when the team plays at 5 p.m. Friday at home against DeBeque.
"We have to focus on what the task is," he said. "We're lacking focus on the courts and playing with some poor forms at times. We have to think about the way we're playing. It's still a long season. I hope by the end of the season we're playing the way we want."
