The Routt County Planning Commission today will review a pre-application for the proposed Steamboat Sand and Gravel Mine and a subsequent Land Preservation Subdivision. The proposal is for 147 acres.

To say the fish were biting during the eighth annual Yampa Valley Golf-Trout Tournament would be an understatement. The 17 teams of four fishermen caught 860 trout Saturday, with five teams catching more than 100 fish.

Steamboat briefs: Jewish congregation to hold holiday services

Steamboat Springs' Jewish congregation, Har Mishpacha, is conducting several upcoming holiday services. Rosh Hashanah services are at 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. There also will be a Tashlich service at 3 p.m. Saturday. Yom Kippur services are at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 for Kol Nidre and at 10 a.m. Sept. 28. Yitzkor is at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 28, and N'Eilah is at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 28.

12:45 a.m. Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a report of a noninjury, one-car rollover crash near mile marker 5 on Routt County Road 134 near Toponas. Deputies arrested a 32-year-old Pueblo man on a warrant for being a fugitive of justice.
