12:52 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders were called to a request for an ambulance in the 2400 block of Pine Grove Circle where a 26-year-old woman reportedly fell and hit her head. Medical crews took the woman to Yampa Valley Medical Center.

4:55 a.m. Police were called to a report of a suspicious person in the 1300 block of Indian Trails where a woman leaving for work saw a man standing near her car. Officers drove through the area but were unable to find the man.

10:14 a.m. Police were called to a request for motorist assistance at the James Brown Soul Center of the Universe Bridge where a truck hauling trash spilled part of its load, including glass, on the pavement. Officers directed traffic around the site until it was cleaned up.

10:26 a.m. Deputies were called to a report of a hit-and-run crash in the 29000 block of C.R. 27 near Oak Creek.

12:36 p.m. Police were called to a report of a vehicle complaint at Anglers and Rollingstone drives where cars reportedly were parked in the road. Officers asked the owners to move the cars.

12:43 p.m. Police were called to a report of a hit-and-run crash in Central Park Plaza. Officers found the car that left the scene. There was minor damage.

2:03 p.m. Hayden Police Department officers were called to a report of a hit-and-run crash at Washington Avenue and Poplar Street.

2:22 p.m. Police, Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue and mental health professionals were called to a report of domestic violence in Steamboat. Officers took a 56-year-old Steamboat man to Yampa Valley Medical Center for detox, then arrested him on suspicion of third-degree assault.

2:50 p.m. Police and deputies were called to a report of a noninjury, two-car crash at Curve Court and Shield Drive.

7:57 p.m. Deputies and Hayden police were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 400 block of the alley between Jefferson Street and Lincoln Avenue. Officers found an abandoned motorcycle and had it towed.

8:23 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a car crash at County roads 27 and 37 southeast of Hayden where a semitruck reportedly hit and killed a cow in the road. The driver was not injured.

10:41 p.m. Police were called to a noise complaint in the 1300 block of Bob Adams Drive where people using the skatepark reportedly were playing loud music. Officers gave the group a warning.

10:46 p.m. Police were called to a report of a bear in the 3400 block of Hiawatha Court where a bear reportedly got into trash inside a garage. Officers scared the bear away.

11:42 p.m. Police were called to a report of a suspicious incident in Whistler Village where someone was reportedly screaming. The screaming had stopped when officers arrived, and the officers could not to find the source of the noise.

Now, after having countless tales of bravery and courage rattled off to me by my father and grand-father, both of whom served in Colorado law enforcement, I've finally heard it all. Job well done men.
