Steamboat Springs The Hayden High School football team held on for a 7-6 win Friday at Rangely. Rangely scored early to take a 6-0 lead in the first quarter before Hayden bounced back in the second quarter. Rene Valdez's extra point proved to be the difference maker. The Hayden volleyball team fell, 3-1, to Rangely. Tigers coach Greg Johnson said that despite the loss, he was as pleased as he has been all year with the effort, particularly the team's serve-receive and blocking. Hayden plays at 7:30 p.m. today at home against Baggs, Wyo.
