It's never any secret what the goal of the Steamboat Springs High School tennis team is when it takes the court at the regional tournament. In fact, that goal hasn't changed - or gone unreached - in the past 11 seasons.

CDOT work to close Third Street at post office

Closure could begin today and last through weekend; vehicle access from Lincoln Avenue

Today's work on U.S. 40 has closed Fourth Street south of Lincoln Avenue, and Fifth Street north and south of Lincoln. A CDOT spokeswoman said a closure of Third Street north of Lincoln could start today and will continue "at least through the weekend." Vehicles can access the post office from the Lincoln Avenue entrance or the Wells Fargo parking lot, and pedestrian access will be available.

Homecoming relies on community involvement

Parade has new route, more than 30 floats

The route is set, and most of the floats are accounted for. All Delaine Brown can hope for is a little good weather for Moffat County High School's 2009 Homecoming Parade. The parade begins at 2 p.m. Friday at City Park and will travel west on Victory Way to the Safeway parking lot.

Andrea Luker gets 4 years probation

Andrea Luker, co-owner and operator of Bear Valley Child Learning Center, was sentenced Tuesday in Moffat County District Court for her role in welfare fraud. Luker, 39, pleaded guilty to theft of a series of $1,000 to $20,000, a Class 4 felony, and refusal to permit inspection, a petty offense.
