Snowfall late Wednesday night and Thursday morning caused a few vehicle slides around Routt County, but law enforcement officers said this morning that roads were mostly safe and clear. The high today in Steamboat is expected to be 43 degrees, with snow possibly turning to rain. Friday is forecast to be sunny, with a high of 52.

Public defender questions actions in Johnson arrest case
Public defender Sheryl Uhlmann said Tuesday's arrest of a former Craig police detective raises disturbing questions about his employment as a law enforcement officer. Ken Johnson, 42, was a nine-year Police Department veteran until his resignation Sept. 8. He was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of three felonies.
