The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is accepting applications for Holidays in the Rockies, an annual holiday artisan market. The market will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 5 at Christian Heritage School. Booth spaces are filled on a first come, first served basis. Call 879-9008 to get an application.

Hayden Christmas Tree Auction set for Dec. 6

The annual Christmas Tree Auction will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Routt County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. The auction will feature decorated wreaths, trees and centerpieces created by local youth groups and service organizations, such as the Girl Scouts, the Routt County Fair Board, 4-H Groups, Love INC. and the Routt County CattleWomen. Please help us support these groups by coming to our auction and buying these handcrafted items. All sale proceeds go to the youth and service organizations. Mainstreet seeks entrants for 1st Santa Parade

Mainstreet Steamboat Springs is holding its first Santa Parade as part of Merry Mainstreet on Dec. 12. The group is seeking parade entrants for the holiday light parade. Santa will bring up the rear, and Merry Mainstreet is from 4 to 7 p.m. There is no entry fee to participate. STARS seeks volunteers for 2009-10 ski season

Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports is seeking volunteers for the 2009-10 season. Volunteer orientation is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Round UP Room at the Steamboat Ski Area. STARS volunteers will learn how to help instructors with adaptive equipment, as well as how to help instructors with their students with special needs in lessons. STARS volunteers can earn daily lift tickets, deals on ski and snowboard equipment and training clinics. Call 970-819-1996. Schedules are flexible, and opportunities include on-snow guiding, the Horizons program Saturday and camps.

Adult day services offered at The Haven in Hayden

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering adult day services at The Haven Assisted Living Center in Hayden for any disabled individual older than 18 or elderly individual who is looking for daily activities where oversight is provided. Services are provided from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Meals, medication administration, activities, assistance with bathing and wellness assessments are available. Autism Respite Program seeks new care providers

The Yampa Valley Autism Program is seeking care providers for its Respite Program. Respite Program care providers are made available to families of children with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities to help as needed. Care providers also can participate in programs such as Kid’s Night Out.

The Yampa Valley Autism Program is looking for individuals who have experience with children of special needs. CPR and first aid certifications can be provided if not certified. An hourly rate is provided to all caregivers. Call Kristin at 970- 870-4263 or e-mail kristinpiro@gmail.com.

Applications for historic properties due Thursday

Applications for designation on the Routt County Register of Historic Properties are due at the Routt County Courthouse, in the county commissioners office, by Thursday. The Historic Preservation Board will review applications Dec. 16. Call Dee Bolton at 970-879-0108 for details.

Seasonal flu vaccine now available for all ages

Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association now has seasonal flu vaccine available for all ages. H1N1 vaccine is only available for certain high-risk groups at this time.
