Steamboat Briefs: LIFT-UP locations to be closed Thursday, Friday

All LIFT-UP of Routt County sites will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Community Thrift Store will reopen Saturday for the monthly half-price sale. For more information, call 870-0727.
Road work under way on Routt County Road 76
Construction to repair the Cog landslide began Monday and continues from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec. 31 on Routt County Road 76. One lane of traffic is allowed through the work zone. The road will be open to two-lane traffic after 5 p.m. and on weekends. American Civil Contractors is conducting the work. Contact the Routt County Road and Bridge Department at 879-0831 with questions.
Crocs are being collected across Steamboat Springs
Girl Scout Reagan Mertz is collecting new and used Crocs and other shoes for the nonprofit Amahoro Project 1919, benefiting a Rwandan orphanage. Donation bins are at Bud Werner Memorial Library, Soda Creek Elementary School, Strawberry Park Elementary School, Steamboat Springs Middle School, Wells Fargo, Alpine Bank, Yampa Valley Bank, Holy Name Catholic Church, City Market, Safeway and Wal-Mart. Look for boxes colored blue, yellow and green.
