Steamboat Springs Occupation: Snowboarder/shop manager
Place of birth: Ohio
Q. When did you move to Routt County, and what brought you here?
A. About seven years ago. I came as most others do, to snowboard and “live the dream.” I knew one person who was here for a few months a year and that was it. I came for one year, and the rest is history.
Q. What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken recently?
A. Moving out here to the ’Boat by myself with some gear, a little money and no job or place to live. Or anytime I go biking or snowboarding.
Q. Describe your morning routine.
A. Hop out of bed, walk my Kiley girl, grab a latte and some food and head to work or the mountain.
Q. Has a book ever changed your life? What was it and why?
A. Probably Kerouac’s “Duluoz Legend.” It’s a series of books that represent Jack’s life, the Beat generation and exploration of life, this country/world we live in and the diversity of it all.
Q. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
A. “Take care of your own” from Grams, and “Grin and bear it” from Mom.
Q. What three things would you want people to know about you?
A. I like adventure and new things. Live every day to its fullest; you only get one shot.
Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A. A stuntman/bounty hunter like the “Fall Guy.”
Q. If you could invite any four people to dinner, who would they be and what would you talk about?
A. Jamie Lynn: my next sleeve, the perfect “method” and shredding. Jack Kerouac: good jazz and his life adventures. Ron Burgundy: the news. And Cartman from “South Park.”
Q. In the Meatloaf song, “I’d do anything for love, but I won’t do that,” what is that?
A. I’d do it all if it was worth it — guess I’ve got to meet that special lady first, though.
