Steamboat briefs: Scarf sales benefit breast cancer awareness program

Steamboat Springs Pink scarves are on sale at Epilogue Book Co., benefiting Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Program. The program provides funding for women in Yampa Valley with little or no insurance who are fighting breast cancer. Donations also are accepted. Donations of hand-knit or crocheted scarves can be made at Epilogue or by calling Jo at 846-2627.
Community Thanksgiving Dinner needs volunteers
Routt County United Way and Wells Fargo Bank once again are coordinating the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. The dinner will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. Volunteers to work at the dinner and donations of prepared food are necessary to make this important community event a success. If you can help, call Routt County United Way at 879-5605.
Cultural integration group seeks bilingual volunteers
Integrated Community is seeking bilingual volunteers to assist the organization with its resource and referral program Mondays and Wednesdays. Volunteers must speak Spanish, enjoy helping the immigrant community, and be respectful and mature. Training is provided. Call Tatiana at 871-4599 or e-mail director@ciiccolorado.org.
Newborn Network offers resources to new parents
Newborn Network is a support system dedicated to providing parenting and resource information to all families who live in Routt County and have children ages 3 and younger. Newborn Network’s free services include weekly networking and education groups, parenting education home visits, a lending library of parenting topics and a series of gift bags. Parents of a child as old as 3 can call 970-879-0977 for more information about support services.
