My Wireless honors employee of the month
My Wireless has recognized Danny Lange for his outstanding work. Lange, of the Central Park Plaza store, has been honored as Regional Sales Associate of the Month for February, according to a news release. The award is given not only for success in sales, but also for displaying high levels of professionalism and customer service, the release stated.
Steamboat Springs Regional Manager Josh Holdridge said about Lange, "Danny Lange is a new member of our team and new to the Steamboat area. Danny always provides excellent customer service and goes above and beyond for our customers."
Chamber forms young professionals network
The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is sponsoring the formation of a Young Professionals Network. Marion Ayers, the Chamber's finance and human resources director, is organizing the network.
A kickoff event is planned for April 23, but Ayers didn't have details. The group aims to connect young professionals with one another and the community, she said. The network also will encourage professional development through speakers and workshops. It also will focus on arts, culture and volunteer opportunities.
"Most of our members would be between the ages of 21 and 40, but we're not going to discriminate," Ayers said.
Anyone interested can e-mail Ayers at email@example.com, or call 875-7008.
Government starts site for small businesses
The U.S. Small Business Administration's Business Gateway Program has launched a Web initiative, http://Community.Business.gov, the first government-sponsored online community built specifically for small businesses, the agency announced in a news release.
The Business.gov Community aims to provide small-business owners, bloggers and the government with a place to discuss and share information, according to a news release.
An extension of Business.gov, the Business.gov Community combines discussion forums, blogs, an idea exchange and more. It also offers tools for navigating government resources, policies, laws and opportunities that affect the small business owner, the release stated.
