Steamboat Springs Tuesday, March 10
1:39 a.m. A suspicious person was reported in the 1400 block of Athens Plaza where a transient man had reportedly been sleeping in a light blue van for more than a week. The van was unoccupied when Steamboat Springs Police Department officers arrived.
2:14 a.m. A two-vehicle, noninjury accident was reported in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. Police took a report.
8:27 a.m. A noise complaint was reported in the 3000 block of AprÃs Ski Way. Police issued a warning.
9:23 a.m. A theft was reported in the 2300 block of Mount Werner Circle, where a 22-year-old Steamboat Springs man reportedly was using another person's ski pass. The man was arrested for outstanding warrants.
9:25 a.m. Theft was reported in the 44000 block of Routt County Road 36. Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies took a report.
9:27 a.m. A fire alarm was reported in the 2600 block of Medicine Springs Drive. Everything was fine.
10:08 a.m. An iPhone was found in the 800 block of Oak Street and turned in to police.
11:27 a.m. Two dogs were reported loose near Chinook and Stone Lane. The animals were gone when police arrived.
12:23 p.m. A warrant arrest was attempted at 1400 Bob Adams Drive.
12:30 p.m. A dog at large was reported in a yard in the 2900 block of West Acres Drive. It was gone when officers arrived.
12:40 p.m. A man was found in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. A citation was issued.
12:48 p.m. A group of seven suspicious people was reported in the 400 block of Clover Circle in Hayden. The people, from Craig, were selling magazine subscriptions. A Hayden Police Department officer told the group that a Hayden city ordinance forbids selling items door-to-door and the group left town. They were later reported in Milner.
12:52 p.m. A warrant arrest was attempted in the 2900 block of Laurel Lane.
1:16 p.m. An aggressive dog was reported loose in Longview Circle. The animal was gone when police arrived.
1:49 p.m. An animal complaint was made in the 27000 block of Silver Spur Street.
3:11 p.m. A theft was reported at Steamboat Ski Area. Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies issued a ticket.
3:46 p.m. An officer was requested in the 29000 block of C.R. 27 near Oak Creek.
4:13 p.m. A multicolored car reportedly was speeding and cutting in and out of traffic on U.S. Highway 40 near Mount Werner Road. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
4:18 p.m. A woman reported her ex-husband violated a restraining order in Steamboat Springs. Police took a report.
4:32 p.m. A disturbance was reported on Bell Avenue in Oak Creek.
5:32 p.m. A two-car accident was reported at the intersection of U.S. 40 and C.R. 51A near Hayden. A northbound car on C.R. 51A broadsided a car eastbound on U.S. 40. The driver of the eastbound car was transported by ambulance to the Yampa Valley Medical Center.
5:37 p.m. Two male juveniles were reportedly acting suspiciously and in possession of a "No Parking" sign on the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Seventh Street. The juveniles were gone when police arrived.
6:48 p.m. An ambulance was requested in Clark to transport a patient to the YVMC for a medical condition. No more information was available.
9:04 p.m. An intrusion alarm was reported in the 1800 block of Lincoln Avenue. Police found an employee had inadvertently tripped it. Everything was fine.
9:27 p.m. Officers were called to a residence in the 2300 block of Storm Meadows Drive, where two teenagers reportedly heard thumping and unusual noises from the front of the house and had locked themselves in a bathroom. Police responded and found everything was fine.
