Steamboat Springs A winter weather advisory is in effect for Steamboat Springs and vicinity until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The National Weather Service forecasts snow and gusty winds. Total accumulations of 4 to 8 inches possible by Tuesday afternoon. The heaviest snowfall is expected to take place across the northern mountains of the state, including Rabbit Ears Pass.
Snow will develop tonight and continue through Tuesday morning before tapering off in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Winds of 15 to 25 mph likely, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
