I would like to add to a story that ran in the Steamboat Today on Feb. 27 entitled "The challenge of eating local foods." The community dialogue on agriculture policy, to be held March 18 at the Steamboat Springs Community Center, is being co-sponsored by several community programs: Deep Roots Local Food Trust, the Community Agriculture Alliance, Northwest Colorado Products, the Routt County CSU Extension Office, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the city of Steamboat Springs. We are eager to hear ideas from consumers about what they want their food supply to look like, and this event is one opportunity for consumers to be heard.

As a past employee of the district, I want to thank you very much for offering a picnic to make me feel better about the loss of the laptop from the school offices and the potential loss of my identity. I am a vegetarian not interested in a feel-good picnic. As I do not eat hot dogs and hamburgers, please take the money that you would have spent on my portion of this picnic and pay for monitoring my identity.

Mary Darcy: Editorial wrong

None of the Editorial Board members who wrote the Sunday editorial on class size were at that particular school board meeting, and it showed. I found it misleading. It, along with the accompanying article "Class-size debate murky," did not give an accurate portrayal of the meeting or the issue.

Our View: Ultimately, district makes right decision

The Steamboat Springs School District did the right thing Tuesday when it negotiated a deal to provide credit monitoring for all past and present employees whose Social Security numbers were on a laptop stolen from district offices.
