No new salmonella cases reported in county
No new cases have been reported regarding the King Soopers and City Market recall of nearly 500,000 pounds of beef products because of a possible salmonella contamination, the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association said Tuesday.

A local couple has signed a lease to reopen the Space Station gas station and convenience store in downtown Steamboat Springs. The station at Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue has sat vacant for more than two years, and its owner was nearly cited for nuisance issues by the city.

During a new campaign called "Taking It to the Streets," anyone interested in signing up for classes at Colorado Mountain College doesn't have to go to the campus to do so. The college will set up registration tents from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., beginning today, at a number of locations in town.

In the far northern constellation of Auriga the Charioteer, not far from the bright star Capella, an astronomical mystery is about to play out, as it has every 27 years for the past century. Professional astronomers and citizen astronomers worldwide are watching and waiting for the star Epsilon Aurigae to begin to fade during August. Epsilon Aurigae is an eclipsing binary star, not in and of itself very unusual, but the object that is creating the eclipse remains one of the most puzzling of astronomical mysteries.
