Chamber in need of 2009 Winter Carnival volunteers
Steamboat Springs The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is seeking volunteers for 2009 Winter Carnival weekend events, Feb. 7 to 8. Contact Kristi White at 970-875-7006 for details.
Singers needed for CMC's Easter portion of 'Messiah'
Singers, especially tenors and sopranos, are needed to join Colorado Mountain College's presentation of the Yampa Valley Chorus singing the Easter portion of Handel's "Messiah" with the Steamboat Strings Orchestra, April 11 and 12. Rehearsals are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at Steamboat Springs Middle School in Strawberry Park. If you have a "Messiah" score, please take it to rehearsals. Contact Marie Carmichael at 871-4883.
Applications accepted for Teen of the Month program
The Steamboat Springs Optimist Club is accepting applications for its Teen of the Month program. Area high school students and those interested can pick up applications from their school counselors, or by calling Rob MacCarthy at 871-7179. The program culminates in a May recognition dinner for all the recognized teens, and a scholarship for the Teen of the Year.
